Kate completed her psychotherapy training (G.Dip & M.A.) at the University of Limerick and prior to that completed a BA and MSc in Psychology. Having studied both psychology and psychotherapy has provided her with a solid grounding and understanding of both disciplines.
In addition to her academic study, Kate had completed training in a range of evidence-based therapeutic programmes and approaches for working with children, adolescents, and families. These include Circle of Security, Sensory Attachment Integration, and Trauma-Informed working. Kate would consider Attachment theory and practice to be her special area of interest and she has trained and worked extensively in this area. Alongside her private psychotherapy work, Kate had worked for many years in the field of therapeutic Family Support with children, adolescents, and parents.
