Sylvia is an accredited Clinical Supervisor and Psychotherapist who works with both individuals and couples. She holds an Honours Degree in Psychotherapy, a Diploma in Supervision Across Professions from ICPPD, and a Level 8 Certificate in Couples Counselling. Sylvia’s therapeutic approach is primarily person-centred and integrative, drawing on modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), humanistic, and psychodynamic approaches to best support each client’s unique needs.

Sylvia has extensive experience working with clients in a variety of settings, including student counselling at NUIG, Primary Care and Addiction Services with the HSE, and Pieta. She has supported clients with a wide range of concerns such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, stress, trauma, and addiction, as well as personal development and inner growth. This experience enables her to tailor her approach to each individual’s or couple’s specific issues and needs.

At the core of Sylvia’s work is a deep respect for each individual’s life journey. She believes we are all experts on ourselves and intuitively know what is no longer serving us. Her core role is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore and unpack what is no longer serving you. She is strongly committed to professional confidentiality and ethical standards, ensuring everything you share remains private and that you feel safe throughout the therapeutic process.

I have experience working across a range of settings, including HSE Primary Care, HSE Addiction Services and Pieta. I currently provide counselling through Galway City Counselling Services.

Sessions are typically 50/55 minutes in length and are available in person or online.
